Robert Cheruiyot, 2007 Boston Marathon Winner Bringing Two Kenyan Athletes
to Participate in the Spinx Run Fest October 26-28

Greenville, S.C. (October 2007) The Greenville Track Club announces the
2007 winner of the Boston marathon, Robert Cheruiyot, is bringing two
Kenyan athletes to race the Spinx Run Fest, Palmetto Bank Marathon. These
athletes have personal bests of 2.14.38 and 2.16.01 in the 26.2 mile
distance. They have never taken part in an international race and
Greenville is proud to host them in their very first international
experience.

Robert Cheruiyot will participate in the weekend events as the Spinx Run
Fest’s Honorary Grande Marshall. He will be traveling to the local schools
to talk to the children participating in the Bi-lo Kids Marathon as well as
leading a runner’s workshop for local runners. All details are currently
being finalized. Check the Spinx Run Fest web site (www.spinxrunfest.com)
for a finalized itinerary and locations Mr. Cheruiyot will be. This is an
exciting opportunity for the Greenville running community and the track
club.

The Run Fest will be held the weekend of Oct 26-28. This year the Spinx
Run Fest has partnered with The Greenville Drive Stadium to host portions
of the three day running event. The marathon is in its third year and is
excited to be working with The Drive Stadium as well as continuing their
partnership with SPINX Company and the Palmetto Bank.

Last year’s events drew over 1400 runners and walkers. The Spinx Run Fest
consists of the Aquafina Mile on Friday, October 26, followed by the Bi-Lo
Kids Marathon, Tot Trot and Kids Zone, and a 5K Road Race and Fitness Walk
on Saturday the 27th. Sunday the 28th brings the Palmetto Bank Marathon,
Half Marathon, 4-Person Marathon Relay and Corporate Challenge races. The
Spinx Run Fest includes a 2 day exposition with exhibitors of interest to
the entire community, including the BiLo Kids Zone at the Greenville Drive
Stadium. St. Francis Hospital System continues its support of the
community wide event as Health Partner for 2007. Benefactor of the Spinx
Run Fest is the Greenville Chapter of the Red Cross, which will receive a
portion of the proceeds from the event.
