SunTrust Richmond Marathon, McDonald's Half Marathon and HCA Virginia 8k
Courses to be Packed with Entertainment

Susan Greenbaum to headline SunTrust Richmond Marathon post-race festival

RICHMOND, VA - With 28 bands and musical acts performing, 25 cheering
groups competing in the Richmond Times-Dispatch Community Cheer Challenge
and four SunTrust/NBC12 Party Zones filled with family members and friends,
nearly 17,000 participants in the SunTrust Richmond Marathon, McDonald's
Half Marathon and HCA Virginia 8k on November 13 will have much excitement
to look forward to on the course.

"The response from bands and performers in the community has been
tremendous. People are lining up to be part of the race," said Leah Harms,
Sports Backers entertainment coordinator. "Because of the buy-in from the
community, we have been able to bring the entertainment on the course to
the next level."

Susan Greenbaum, one of Richmond's favorite singer-songwriters, will
perform at the post-race festival. "We love playing for the Richmond
Marathon because the runners and supporters just fill up the whole area
with positive energy," said Greenbaum. "It's a real blast to provide music
for runners and supporters from all over the world, and the SunTrust
Richmond Marathon really brings people together for a totally positive
event that shows off how great our city is. I love seeing the faces of the
athletes after they've finished; it's our challenge to play upbeat and fun
music so that even people who have just run 26.2 miles will feel a bounce
in their step or at least have a smile on their faces. We love adding a
musical element to the runners' celebrations!"

SunTrust Richmond Marathon Band Lineup

Richmond Times-Dispatch Community Cheer Challenge
To add to the excitement, the SunTrust Richmond Marathon has partnered with
the Richmond Times-Dispatch to create the new Richmond Times-Dispatch
Community Cheer Challenge. Twenty-five community groups have signed up to
compete to be the most spirited cheering group along the race course. Prize
money will be awarded based on originality, theme, decorations, crowd size
and spirit.

SunTrust/NBC12 Party Zones
Friends or relatives of marathon and half marathon competitors can follow a
spectator tour of the course to show their support and enthusiasm. There
are three SunTrust/NBC12 Party Zones along the SunTrust Richmond Marathon
course and one Party Zone along the half marathon course. Each location
will feature music, refreshments and an on-air personality from NBC12. For

Online registration for the SunTrust Richmond Marathon, McDonald's Half
Marathon and HCA Virginia 8k is available at www.richmondmarathon.org until
11:59 p.m. on Wednesday, November 10. Walk-up registration will be
available at the Health & Fitness Expo at the Arthur Ashe Center on
Thursday, November 11 from 5 to 9 p.m. and Friday, November 12 from 11 a.m.
to 9 p.m. There is no race day registration or packet pick-up.
