The 19th Volkswagen Prague Marathon - Coming Up on the 12th of May!

Still daydreaming about running in beautiful Prague? It is about time to
take some action as 90% of start numbers have already been sold out. The
registration will fully close within the week or so. Hurry up! Register
online and lace up those running shoes.

The Volkswagen Prague Marathon, IAAF Gold Road Race, will take place on the
12 May in the Old Town Square (Staromestské Námésti). Over 8000 runners
have already been registered for its 19th edition, 26% of whom are women.

The Prague Marathon remains the most international race out of all the
RunCzech Running League with 40% of runners hailing from over 82 countries.
Italy, France, UK, Germany, Slovakia and Poland are the leading countries
in the number of runners.

Big event needs appropriate attention. Same as last year the Volkswagen
Prague Marathon will be broadcasted live through IEC to over 114 countries
of all continents; millions of viewers in China will be reached through
CCTC television. RunnersTV.ru will deliver the news to Russia and RTVE - to
Spanish sport enthusiasts.

9000 runners are expected to flood the streets of Prague on the 12th of
May. Make sure to think of your beloved ones and smile at those cameras
once crossing the Finish line!

Apart from individual race which requires completing the full marathon
distance (42,195 km) The Volkswagen Prague Marathon runners are given the
option to split the course in four parts in a Relay race (3 x 10 km + 1 x
12,195 km) or enter the Team race and strive for their personal PB in a
full marathon as part of the team.

Amateur runners or those who simply just want to enjoy can sing up for the
Volkswagen Family Mini Marathon which is one-tenth of marathon distance
(4.2 km) and guarantees a lot of fun for all the family. Each registered
racer, adult or child, gets a bib number, a t-shirt and a Finish medal.
"The Volkswagen Prague Marathon is an event for the whole family and each
participant of the main race is therefore entitled to one free entry for
the Volkswagen Family MiniMarathon." Says Carlo Capalbo, Chairman of the
Organizing Committee.

The Volkswagen Prague Marathon starts on Sunday 12th May 2013 at 9:00 am in
the Old Town Square. 35 minutes later the Volkswagen Family MiniMarathon
