If sunny skies and 70 degrees were not enough for a great day at the races, then how about 750 dollars. That is all it took for Sammy Nyamongo, of Marietta, to win the 26.2-mile marathon with a time of 2:33.44. Allison Dublinski , of Atlanta, collected her 750 dollar prize as the top women's finisher, crossing the line at 2:53.52.

Alpharetta Marathon returns this weekend

More than one thousand runners calling Ohio, Wisconsin, New Jersey and Missouri will line up for the second annual Alpharetta Marathon this Sunday at 7 am. The event kicks off Alpharetta's 150th Anniversary and prizes to the pace of $150 dollars will be doled out during the day.
