Sonia O'Sullivan officially launched the Cork City Marathon in her home town. The marathon will start on June 7, 2010 and raise money for the Irish Cancer Society. The race expects more than ten-thousand entrants.

Michael Herlihy won the Cork City Marathon with a time of 2 hours 30 minutes and 36 seconds. The 28-year old was running in his first ever marathon. The first female, Lucy Brennan, crossed the line with a time of 2 hours 51 minutes and 25 seconds.

Michael Herlihy, 28, from Charleville won the annual Cork City Marathon with a time of 2 hours 30 minutes and 36 seconds. The race, which finished on St. Patrick's Street, was used to raise money for the Irish Cancer Society.
