Ed Freygang of Denver won the Mile High City Marathon in 2:43:26. Kristin McLaurin-Little, who race two other marathons so far this year, won the women's race in 2:56:41. The event overall drew over 2,700 runners in its second year.

2001 Volkswagen Mile High City Marathon Race Director, Chuck Trujillo, announced today that Denver's city marathon, previously scheduled for Sunday, September 16th will be postponed. Event staff and city officials are working together diligently to secure a new date for the event.
