Sean Larkin of Denver better his personal best by several minutes and won Sunday's Mile High City Marathon in Denver in 2:34:50, just over three minutes ahead of the next finisher. Heather Burcher, 24, of Golden, CO, made her marathon debut and was the women's marathon winner in 2:59.44.

Sean Larkin of Denver set a new course record and won Sunday's Mile High City Marathon in Denver in 2:34:50. A friend from his high school running days won the half marathon. Heather Burcar, 24, won the women's marathon in 2:59.44. Tricia Downing, though, had the most inspiring race. The 33-year-old wheelchair racer raced alone, survived two minor wrecks and completed the half-marathon course in 1:49.00.
