The challenging course through North Carolina's most popular state forest inspired Aaron Saft of Fletcher to set a new course record, finishing the 26.2 miles in 2:30:53, more than nine minutes in the lead. Sara Lundblad of Swannanoa took the women's title a third time, finishing in 3:06:01.

Lundblad Wins Third DuPont Women's Title

Lundblad, who won the inaugural event in 2003 and then again in 2004, took the title Sunday with a time of 3:06:01, which was just 30 seconds off her own course record.
