Participation in the third annual El Paso Marathon events produced record numbers despite the wind-swept course and chilly temperatures. Over fifteen hundred runners clamored through the streets of El Paso led by Patrick Flores who won the overall marathon title.

In it's third year of racing, the El Paso Marathon is on a winning pace to become of the largest events of its kind in the region. The race hopes to grow to ten-thousand runners and is approaching two-thousand runners this year.
