A1A Marathon race organizer Chris Colgan, of Exclusive Sports Marketing, has been monitoring the positive feedback for the events that attracted 5,001 registered runners for the full, half, kids and 5K races. Colgan probably had one of the most original ways of measuring the event's success. "The difference was 90 cubic yards of garbage instead of 30 cubic yards," Colgan said.

Both winners of the 2008 A1A Marathon win in their marathon debuts. John Roberts won in a 2:50:31 and Cindy Anderson in a 3:07:02 setting a course record. In the third year of the race also had a record turnout of 4,974 participants.

John Roberts and Cindy Anderson won the men and women's races of the 2008 A1A Marathon. In a marathon debut Roberts who raced the 26.2 miles on a dare from his girlfriend finished in a 2:50:31. Anderson, also in her debut marathon, won the women's race in 3:07:02.

With only 11 days to go and race entries up twenty percent over last year, Chris Colgan is praying for cool weather for the three year old infant A1A Marathon. With the weather that marred last years race, Colgan hopes the promised rain and winds will stay at bay this year.
