After a successful Prize Purse Fundraising Campaign, the Gasparilla Distance Classic Association has announced that Prize Money will be offered for the 2004 Hops Marathon By Tampa Bay and 2004 Bank of America Gasparilla Distance Classic 15K. Both events will take place the weekend of January 24th & 25th.

With a steady pace of 5:37 per mile, Jeff Fabian won the Hops Marathon in an unexpected time of 2:27:35. Fabian says he doesn't run all that much, but he still managed to beat Richard Roberts with over a three minute lead. St. Petersburgh's Kim Donaldson took lead in the women's race for her city in a time of 3:01:18.
