After playing the rabbit in 2002, Andrey Gordeyev resisted the urge to be the frontrunner in the 2004 Grandma's Marathon and instead sat back. In the end, Luke Metto who immediately went to the front finished second in 2:18:38. Vladimir Tsiamchyk was the winner in 2:17:59 and Pavel Andreev was third in 2:18:59.
