Decent experience - needs improvement

Great people, nice course, but there is room for improvement. The first loop was great. Most people were there for the half, but once they were done the second loop consisted of very few full marathoners. As a result, the volunteers were barely paying attention and many of us went off course as the twists and turns are confusing if you don't know the town. The course is poorly marked in certain areas. I ran an extra half mile around mile 18 because I turned right when I should have gone straight. I was following the runners in front of me. We all ran by a group of volunteers who weren't paying attention and didn't say anything till it was too late (one of them eventually ran after us yelling and screaming for us to turn around, but I ran an extra half mile for no reason). I really appreciate the volunteers, don't get me wrong, but if you're out there you have to pay attention. Also, post race festivities sucked. No water or Gatorade to drink and barely any food. But at least there was a cash bar - because runners carry cash on them during a marathon. Just silly. In summary, decent experience but it could have been amazing with a few improvements. Oh and the cops were awesome. Thanks!
