(Reno, NEV) December 6, 2006 – Marathon de Mayo has been named by the Nevada Commission on Tourism (NCOT) as one of 41 Nevada businesses it is honoring with Tourism Development Awards for expanding or starting new facilities or services to draw visitors to the state, Lt. Gov. Lorraine Hunt announced last month.

Contemporary, Classic Rock Legend Al Stewart Performs for the Nevada Wide Open Marathon de Mayo

Time Passages... Unlike many contemporary artists, the songs of Al Stewart don't feel or sound like they come with an expiration date. His works exist outside of any time frame. Excitedly, the Nevada Wide Open Marathon de Mayo welcomes this legend as the headliner for the Marathon de Mayo Finale Concert at the Sands Regency on the Coors Light stage on May 6, 2007. Admission is free. Beginning at 12 noon the Sands Regency will offer VIP meet & greet, food and fun with the 'Evening with Al Stewart' concert beginning around 5 p.m. after the Nevada Wide Open Marathon de Mayo Awards Ceremony.

Alan Woodruff, a veteran marathoner runner, a triathlete, a well known race announcer, and a running coach … Now, is also the new Race Director for he 2007 Nevada Wide Open Marathon de Mayo held on May 6 in Reno, NV. His perspective as a marathoner and coach brings a new look and feel to all of the MdM II races in 2007.
