Spiller, Knickman Winners of Marathon in the Parks

David Spiller, 24, of Harrisonburg, Va., outlasted a pair of African runners to win the Marathon in the Parks Marathon in Bethesda, MD, in 2:33:11 Denise Knickman of Baltimore won the women's race going away, finishing in 2:59:18. Spiller hung back until the latter portion of the race when he ran ahead of Kenyan and Ethopian racers.
