Kenyan runner Reuben Chesang not only ran the Greater Hartford Marathon on Oct. 13, and this past weekend's inaugural Mystic Places Marathon, he won them both. And he wasn't the only one packing two marathons into only a few weeks. Brazilian runner Luiz Carlos Ramos was the runner up in the same two races. Elvira Kolpakova, 29, of Russia won the Baltimore Marathon Oct. 20. She won Mystic Places in 2:47:44 and took home $3,000.

Interest Booming For Connecticut Area Marathons

The Hartford and Mystic Places Marathons are vying for participants. It appears there are enough runners to go around. Both races are drawing healthy numbers.
