First-time runner falters at finish of Mardi-Gras Marathon

For nearly 26 miles, Meyer Friedman was in control of the 39th annual Nokia Sugar Bowl Mardi Gras Marathon. But with the finish line only several hundred yards away, Friedman collapsed, opening the door for Mike Little, a 27-year old from Minneapolis to take the victory.
