Twenty years after women first ran a marathon in the Olympic Games, a women's marathon will be held in San Francisco on Oct. 24. The woman who won the Olympic marathon in Los Angeles in 1984, Joan Benoit Samuelson, will be in San Francisco at that time and serve in some capacity in a race being called the Nike 26.2.
