Thousands of runners descend on the South Bay area for the forty-third running of the Palos Verde Marathon. The second longest continuously run marathon i,n the United States, behind only Boston, will start and end at Point Fermin Park in San Pedro.

The forty-third Palos Verdes Marathon kicks of Saturday morning at Point Fermin Park in San Pedro. The marathon begins at 7 am with the half-marathon to follow thirty minutes later.
