Stephen Courtney, who won the 2009 Perth Marathon, has run forty-three marathons to date and hopes to complete one-hundred marathons. The City to Surf Marathon is next on his list and with twenty-five thousand going to the winner, Courtney is hoping to have a shot at some cash.

Among the runners in this month's Rebel Sport City to Surf for Activ Marathon will be 2009 Perth Marathon winner, Stephen Courtney. Stephen won the Perth Marathon in July, hosted by the Western Australia Marathon Club, with a time of 2h37min. To date Stephen has run 43 marathons and one of his goals is tocomplete 100 marathons. At 32 years old this goal seems very much achievable.

Wayne Byram, a Wagin police officer, fell ill during the second half of the race, but with his determination and the support of many people back in Wagin, he pushed through the pain and finished the race.
