Great community atmosphere
I only signed up for this marathon because Providence was canceled, but I'm so happy I did! The small community atmosphere might not be for everyone, but for me, it was perfect. There was an instant sense of camaraderie among the racers and we cheered each other on the whole time. The crowd was small, but enthusiastic, and genuinely cheered for you to do well. I was worried about getting bored with the 6 laps, but it was nice to strike up friendly banter with the spectators each time I passed -- it took my mind off the pain! If you're looking for a relaxed scene on a pretty course, try this race. The people were great all around.
