Eight hundred athletes from twenty-one countries participated in the Reggae Marathon in Negril. Linton McKenzie won the mens marathon with a time of 2 hours 40 minutes and 8 seconds, while Arieta Martin ran 3 hours, 28 minutes, and 16 seconds to win the womens overall title.

The British publication, The London Paper is calling the Reggae Marathon on of the top ten world's best marathons. No doubt that running less than a few feet from the Caribbean Sea and the silver sand has earned the marathon its spot.

The 5:15 am start to the Reggae Marathon is an attempt to beat the heat of the North Coast. This years marathon will be coupled with the half-marathon and the new 10K as well as online runner tracking for the nearly 800 expected runners.
