The Rock N Roll Seattle Marathon will host the 2010 edition of the marathon in the summer again. Those who participated on June 27, 2009 were pampered with a great course and first class amenities.

Nearly twenty-five thousand runners from all 50 states and 18 countries attended the inaugural Rock N Roll Seattle Marathon last Saturday. MillerCoors donated free beer to runners of age at the finish line. The reason some runners attempt to cross the line at all was free beer. ID's were needed and some runners were just out of luck by not having their photo ID with them on the run.

The Rock N Roll Seattle Marathon was touted as a great success. However those not involved with the race are crying foul as traffic tie-ups and auto congestion seemed to clog the city for hours. Many people felt that the course maximized the congestion and something should be done to correct the situation for 2010.

Peter Omae had nearly finished the Rock N Roll Seattle Marathon when he began looking over his shoulder expecting the strong running of Peter Gilmore to overtake him for the marathon title. Omae won in a time of 2 hours 18 minutes and 17 seconds. Gilmore was just thirty-five seconds back for second place.
