1,600 run in Space Coast marathon event

Nearly 1,600 runners ran along the Indian River in Cocoa Beach, Florida on Sunday. The field size was nearly triple that of last years race. The early start and Space Theme attracted more participants to the southern state.

Space Coast Marathon Aims at Fast Cash for Race and Local Economy

The Space Coast Marathon nearly tripled its race participation from a year ago. The economic impact of the marathon will generate nearly 500,000 dollars to the local ecomony all due in part to the new "Space" theme that the race organizers have promoted.

Entering its 36th year, the Space Coast Marathon continues to increase. Last year drew 624 entrants and that number will increase to around 1,600 for its upcoming race.
