Scott Mullins blasted the Tallahassee Marathon with a two hour and tweny four minute over all finish time. His time cost him 100 dollars per second as he missed the course record of 2 hours 23 minutes and 55 seconds by the narrowest of margins. The next closest Tallahassee finisher was the Florida running legend Jack McDermott.

Tamara Kazulina of the Ukraine won the 2008 Tallahassee Marathon in a 2:57:04, beating Diedra Brill who was runner-up in a 3:05:47 and race favorite Lisa Butler who was third in a 3:11:39. Butler was the race favotire attempting to qualify for the Olympic Trials, but running with a foot injury impeded her race.
