George Towett, a native of Kenyan, capitalized on perfect conditions during the Tallahassee marathon to smash the course record by three minutes and claim a bonus of one-thousand dollars while running 2 hours 20 minutes and 30 seconds for the 26.2 mile race.

The Florida State University will host the thirty-fifth annual Tallahassee Marathon on February first. The out and back course along St. Marks Trail will host runners from twenty-nine states and four countries.
