Joseph Nderitu of Kenya won the Toronto Waterfront Marathon in a time of 2:17:50. In the race, two age-group world records were set: Ed Whitlock became the first man over 70 years of age to break three hours. Fauja Singh, 93, from Essex became the first man over 90 to break 6 hours in the marathon.
