This is a very lowkey, no-frills local race

This is a very lowkey, low-budget, local race. I would not recommend it to the first timer, as the course is hilly and monotonous (three loops), and the roads are open to traffic, so some sections can be a bit dangerous, especially in the later miles when you're tired. As in all races, the volunteers were amazing! Seeing their smiling faces makes your day. Sadly, spectators are almost nonexistent since it's such a small race. This event is geared toward the hardened marathoner/ultrarunner training for a spring race and wanting a no-frills organized long run. If you decide to try this race, plan to have your hydration and nutrition needs on hand. They had water and Gatorade at all stations but ran out of cups at some stations and water at others. There was also a hiccup with race medals not being acquired on time, so some finishers got a medal from previous years, and the slower folks did not. Overall, this low-key race will help you build character and prepare you for a hilly spring race; Nice race shirt, parking, and packet pickup were super easy.
