Marathon winners earn extra money for times

Men's winner Eric Houghton and women's winner Sarah Plaxton both turned in times that earned them an additional $1,000 on top of their champion's prizes.

Bayshore Bonus

The Bayshore Marathon in Traverse City, Michigan (May 24, 2003) has 
officially reached its cap of 1000 runners for the marathon.  Their is no 
cap on the Bayshore 10K.  After two years of an explosive number of 
entries, the Bayshore Organizing Committee decided to create the cap to 
insure the safety and integrity of the race.
