Love this race! Amazing organization! Breathtaking fall colors and canyon views! They know how to do it right! Love the Finisher Medal and race shirt! This marathon will be around for a long time!

Loved this race! Cannot believe how organized and smoothly it was with it being only the second year! Loved the medals and aid station. Not a fan of running so many miles through town, but it was not a big deal. Would be nice to run the majority of the course in the canyon. Love this race and have already recommended it to many other friends!

This was my 5th marathon and my favorite. I loved the downhill course and the canyon was beautiful. I PRed on the this course and met my goal. Perfect weather, organization was great, shirt was super cute! A++ Running it again next year for sure.

I held back the first 16 miles. This paid off for the last 10. I passed lots of runners.

Signed up for this race last minute but was glad that I did. The course is beautiful and super fast. The organization of the race is far above almost all other races starting with the website, policies, sharing of information and much more. I will absolutely be running this one again!

I liked the starting point this year! Guardsman Pass was beautiful and I appreciated more downhill. :) The canyon was gorgeous! This race has become one of my favorites and I plan on running it every year!

"Overall good experience, bus snafu a problem" (about: 2013)

Certainly enjoyed the course and scenery! The bus driver who couldn't negotiate the hairpin turn at the top was a problem, causing a few groups of us, me included, to have to expend energy walking uphill part way to the top starting point, but this is probably an outlier event. I also don't like it when every mile is not marked. It was only well into the race like mile 9 or so it seemed, that we finally got mile markers. Not all of us have fancy gps watches. How easy it would be to just have mile markers at each mile? Very easy. Also, parking for the marathon runners was further away and it was very unclear what shuttle service existed to get us back to the parked car. The last thing I wanted to do at that point was walk more. Apparently there was a guy in a nondescript green van who was a paid shuttle service to the parking lot, but we only discovered that *after* having limped all the way back to the parking lot. If that was clearly marked we may have been able to take advantage of that, but it was not. But a good race overall, and hopefully my comments will be seen and considered so the issues can be fixed for next time! :-)

I live not more than 1.5 miles from the 23 mile mark and have trained on the course several times. It is amazingly beautiful and I love running downhill.

The race was fabulously organized and executed and there were several elements of the race that were my favorite by far, in comparison to other races that I have run (race shirts, medals, free photos, etc.). HOWEVER, I didn't train for such a STEEP downhill course and the race totally killed me. I left with a really bad taste in my mouth, but it was probably my own fault.
