COURSE: 5 ORGANIZATION: 5 FANS: 3 I've run a bunch of different half marathons and a couple of marathons prior to this one and this one is my favorite. I ran the half last year and it's may favorite half. Some of my favorite things about this marathon (and half) are: * Beautiful downhill canyon route * Net elevation drop of over 5000 feet * One of my favorite race shirts * Great medals with custom ribbons for half/full disstances * Plenty of buses * Plenty of port-o-potties at start and on course * Great aid stations with awesome volunteers * Space blankets and gloves provided for the start * Massages at finish line * Professional photos throughout the race and at the finish line all provided free, along with a slightly personalized video (also free) * Did I mention the 5000+ feet of elevation drop? * In addition to the standard finish line refueling options they had awesome fruit bars from Whole Foods, delicious, and sandwiches from Jimmy John's (although the fruit cups were a weird choice...especially without spoons) * The temperature and weather was perfect * Race director and staff are reachable and respond to people

COURSE: 5 ORGANIZATION: 5 FANS: 4 I have done it for 2 year now and it is one of our families favorite for quite a few reasons: One is for the beautiful canyon and fast course, Second the flexibility of the race organization. My wife had to change to the half because of a injury and they allowed this to happen. They have awesome medals, shirts and food. They keep you excited all year with the facebook articles. We love the pictures also.

COURSE: 5 ORGANIZATION: 5 FANS: 5 Loved this race! The course is so awesome through the canyon and the long sleeve tech shirt is my favorite of the year. Volunteers were excellent! I can't wait to come back and run it again. My goal is to BQ in 2014 to celebrate my 50th Birthday at the Boston Marathon in 2015.

"Well-orgainzed, mostly downhill marathon" (about: 2013)

COURSE: 4 ORGANIZATION: 5 FANS: 4 This was one of the best-organized races I have ever run. They did hassle-free t-shirt exchange at the expo! The course was beautiful, fast, and mostly downhill, with a 'false flat' in the last few miles, which was kind of painful. They are changing that part of the course for 2014. Will definitely run this one again. |
