I ran the half marathon last year and the full marathon in 2013. This is by far my favorite event and I plan to participate in either race each year. The organization is amazing and the really know how to spoil the runners. This is the event that every other race I run is compared to.

Big Cottonwood is a remarkably well organized and a high quality race, especially given that it is only three years old. I've ran the marathon the past two years, and undoubtedly will come back every year in the future.

"bus issue and uphill at the end." (about: 2013)

Overall the marathon was good. Obviously it was a bit annoying having to wait for the bus that was stuck at the guradsman's pass turnoff, and it would have been better if there was a way to have the course be downhill at the end rather than flat/uphill, but I thought it was a good course overall.

This Marathon is about as amazing as it gets for a road race. Beautiful scenery, gentle down hill all the way, great aid stations and an energetic finish line! Thanks for the awesome experience. I will definitely be running this again!

I enjoyed every minute of the Big Cottonwood Marathon. Well organized, fun and full of excitement. The canyon is beautiful. Qualified for the Boston Marathon running a 3:27:30. Best BQ ever!

I can't think of many other places that would be more beautiful to run than Big Cottonwood. Overall, the race was awesome and well organized. I'm just hoping next year we won't be so freakin cold at the top.

I loved this course. I wish it would always start at Guardsman Pass. Love Big Cottonwood Canyon. The medal is fantastic.

"Great race, the fastest full course I've run!" (about: 2013)

6-10 previous marathons | 1 Big Cottonwood Marathon

This race is fast! It is tough coming from such a downhill grade to a flat or slight incline for the last 8-9 miles, but anyone would do fine if they train specifically for that. If you want to PR, or qualify for Boston, you should definitely look into this race!

"My favorite marathon so far" (about: 2013)

This is the first marathon that I was excited to run, without feeling that dreadful feeling of running 26.2 miles. I had heard how great the Big Cottonwood Canyon marathon was, and it turned out to be true. It was perfect weather, a beautiful course, and so much fun. I think more people should try running this marathon.
