First Marathons: Mary Ellen Buechel Holbrook

It was 1988 and it was about 25 degrees starting out in Chickamauga GA. In November. About the 25 mile mark it started to blizzard and the wind was kicking up, plus we were heading uphill! It was crazy!! I ended up 7th overall female but was 3rd in my age group! After the awards ceremony I drove down to Tallahassee for a football game and danced till about 2 am and I couldn't move anymore!
