Race Preview / Starter List The 2016 races feature a return of the previous year’s champions and an abundance of Ethiopian athletes. As the USA Olympic Trials Marathon was held two months earlier, none of the top American marathoners will be running Boston. On the other hand, quite a few of the top Ethiopians will be running, it is expected that a successful result in Boston will mean that they may be chosen by by their Federation for a spot on the Olympic Team – watch for some motivated Ethiopian talent.
