BEIJING MARATHON HAS 2002 DATE CHANGE
BOSTON (JUNE 3, 2002)- The Beijing Marathon has changed its 2002 race date
from October 13 to October 20 announced Thom Gilligan of Marathon Tours and
Travel, the event's official North American travel agency. "A conflict with
another event on October 13th necessitated the change," explains Gilligan.
The Beijing Marathon starts in Tiananmen Square in front of the Forbidden
City portal and takes runners through this historic Chinese city. Boasting
a course record of 2:07:35, the Beijing Marathon is a flat, fast course
which attracts a top elite field.
