Marathon World Record of 2:03:23 Ratified By IAAF

IAAF has ratified the marathon world record set by Wilson Kipsang of Kenya
at the BMW BERLIN-MARATHON on 29 September 2013. Kipsang (31) won in
2:03:23 hrs breaking the previous record of 2:03:38 set by Patrick Makau at
the 2011 BMW BERLIN-MARATHON. Kipsang marked the ninth marathon world
record set in Berlin since 1977, of which the last five were all set in the
past ten years.
