I did the half marathon at Daegu and was extremely disappointed. I was aiming for a fast time and good position. All the distances join up at certain stages of the race and some split later again. Apart from having to deal with the slow traffic of runners running the 5km fun run at 6 min/km I was sent on the wrong route. I was directed with the fun runners and ended up running 16km even though I repeatedly kept on pointing at my half marathon bib number whenever I saw a marshal. I cant believe such a big race can make such a rookie error. I mean at least keep separate distances on separate sides of the road! What makes it especially frustrating was that I was running 2nd and would have won $700. I tried to appeal and resolve the matter with the race organizers but had no success in the matter.
