This is a great race with a great RD

Ran this in 2021. Altitude is 5000 feet, but the loop course is mostly flat. 20 laps for a marathon. Great race support, and the RD is a quality human being. He talks with every runner who finishes. He really cares about this race, as does his wife, This race is one to do, for sure. Only 20 minutes from Denver airport. And, lots of craft breweries within a few miles of downtown Brighton.

Flat and fast well done marathon in Colorado

This is a great marathon! Relaxed, friendly and extremely well organized. The RD is a 50 Stater and does an exceptional job. The volunteers are awesome. The Holiday Inn host hotel was very nice and gracious to the runners needs. Course is flat and fast. Pack some wind clothes and gloves as the course circles a lake and there is no blockage from the wind. This is a great marathon for the state of Colorado if you're doing 50 states. The fee is reasonable and helps a local charity.

Definitely recommend

I was pleasantly surprised running this marathon. We even had snow for most of the time I was running! Loved the snow! The loop course (for me) was never boring. It was fun because the Race Director learned people's names, so there was always cheering at least every 1.31 miles. All the volunteers were super nice too. There was plenty of water, sports drinks during the race and food at the end. This marathon is great for those who like a less crowded running field and need a little more time to complete (i.e. slower runners).
