Join us for the 5th Annual Muddy River Marathon, May 3, 2025. The course highlights many landmarks in Cape Girardeau including the Bill Emerson Bridge, Common Pleas Courthouse, Dalhousie Golf Course, Old St. Vincent's Church and more, as well as finishing along the Missouri Wall of Fame Mural. The course is relatively flat utilizing roadways and paved trails. We hope you will spend the evening in Cape and celebrate your accomplishment. Proceeds benefit local non-profits who work to improve the health and wellbeing of those living in the region. Thanks to our sponsors and participants, we have been able to give over $70,000 to local non-profit's since the Muddy River Marathon's inception. In our fourth year we plan to continue expanding the beneficiaries around Southeast Missouri.

Excellent SWAG and Great marathon for a 50-Stater

Extremely well-organized with a fun party at the finish. Runners could wait inside the Century Center until the race start. The course is well-marked with lots of volunteers to be sure nobody got lost. The long-sleeve, quarter-zip shirt is among the best I've ever received. Plus everyone got a REALLY nice thermos. And Cape Girardeau has excellent restaurants for your post race meal. It's a fairly tough course, but has a 7 hour limit so everyone can finish.

Great first year race - would recommend.

Positives- the organization seems strong. Community support is awesome. Volunteers were the best, and enthusiastic. Traffic control was awesome. The race started in time. Post race was good. Room for improvement- add a couple more aid stations, especially from the beginning of the park on. Seems like there were long areas without stations, although I could be wrong. Also, add some bananas and gummy bears at the stations, and maybe some bars of types. The aid stations all had ample water and sports drink, but some food would help. No criticism, just suggestions. Great race, just tweak it a bit. It is very hilly.
