Bucket List Marathon
If you plan on running all 7 Continents, or only one marathon/half marathon in Australia, or heck, if you live in Australia, this is the one to do on that continent.
The organization was top rate. There was a pre dinner on both Thursday and Friday night and a post dinner Sunday night. All were not cheap pasta feeds but buffet style with great food.
The course wasn't easy but doable. I'm not a big trail marathon kind of guy, so I took my time and really enjoyed the environment. There's a chance of seeing dingos and wild Camels (yes, Australia has more Camels than any other place on the planet). The water stops were perfectly space 5K (3.1 miles)apart. Only negative is that you needed to bring your own gels/food when you ran but I understood why, with leaving food out in the Outback.
This will remain in my memory as one of my top 3 marathons(I've done 36 marathons).
If you do decide to do this marathon, I strongly encourage you to go with Marathon Tours. Sure, you can book it yourself but I'll bet it would be cheaper to go with them with the discounts and tours that they have set up during your stay.
