Fast and flat
Fast and flat course that takes you out along the river and back. A few cobbled steets in the city but no more than about a mile or so in total. Conditions weren't great in 2019 but I got close to my 3hr PB so in better weather it could definitely be a PB course. Start and finish in Piazza Bra next to the arena is nice. Expo easy enough to get to on the bus if you're staying in the centre. Well organised overall. Stayed on after the marathon to look around Verona and enjoy the Christmas market.

Interesting venue few athletes from abroad
Under 2,000 runners in the marathon with less than 10 from UK.A shuttle service is available from Verona stadium to the start(in the Valpolicella wine region) not so far from lake Garda, with the first 20k out of Verona(you run by the vinyards) and a wonderful finish running into the Roman colosseum like arena(known now for operatic events) in central Verona. The weather was hot this year at 70F,so a six hour time limit can be a help, relatively flat course and no cobbles near end like the Rome marathon !.
