Every Woman's Marathon

Great job on this inaugural marathon for women! It was so nice to run with 7000 women, with almost half running their first marathon. The energy and support among the runners was incredible. The course had lots of out and back segments, which made it easy to cheer for one another. Spectators were enthusiastic. Kathrine Switzer was at the finish line! Lots of nice swag. The only change I would suggest is to get rid of the short highway stretch. I would run it again!

The whole weekend was a welcoming celebration for women of all backgrounds and experience. Cooking demos, yoga, great swag, concert by Natasha Bedingfield at afterparty. The race course was fun and not too challenging except for miles 21-23 along a highway. I ran age group PR! Only problem is they didn't have age groups. And people who were at risk of missing cutoff were bused to near the finish and allowed to finish and get medal, but it screwed up results ranking because they came in ahead of many complete 26.2 runners.

It was so much fun to run with 7000 women in this first running of the marathon. We laughed and supported each other and it was so exceptional. The run on the interstate was rough with no trees to break the sun, so maybe that can be replaced with neighborhoods.
