Time Warner Cable Showcases Road Runner Akron Marathon

Time Warner will air coverage of the Road Runner Akron Marathon which takes place this coming Saturday. Race coverage will begin on Thursday and cover the start and finish and the Y-bridge area.

Road Runner Akron Marathon Announces Winner Of The 2010 Ambassador Award

Amby Burfoot has been selected as the recipient of the 2010 Road Runner Akron Marathon Ambassador Award. The award recognizes individuals who have demonstrated superior service and dedication to the running industry, or who have earned respect within their community for their exceptional accomplishments. Burfoot, a lifelong runner, was the winner of the 1968 Boston Marathon, as well as many other national and international races. He won the Manchester Road Race nine times, an event he has run for 46 straight years. Burfoot, 64, is executive editor of Runner's World magazine and author of "The Runner's Guide to the Meaning of Life." He resides with his family in Emmaus, CT.
