Most race coverage in China completely refutes it. The Beijing Times reported that eight runners went to the hospital, just one from a heart attack. One 52-year old runner and one judge had a heart attack, the Beijing Morning Post reports, while three other runners were taken to the hospital for dehydration. The paper said that four people remain in the hospital Monday morning.

Forty-one-year-old Kenyan veteran Mariko Kipchumba clocked 2 hours 11 minutes to win the 2015 Beijing Marathon on Sunday, becoming the first non-Ethiopian athlete to win the event since 2011.

The Beijing Marathon Organizing Committee held a press conference,on July 8,2015,to announce 2015 Beijing Hyundai Beijing Marathon registration will start at 11:00 on July 10. Participants can go to its official web or through "mala mala" App to register. Beijing Marathon is in its 35th anniversary this year. The competition will set up only 42.195 km full marathon and maintain 3000 participants as usual.
