The Lake City Running Club will host its annual half-marathon, marathon, and 50 Kilometer race this weekend. Michael Wardian will headline the 50K race as he attempts to break the U.S. 50K record. He will be speaking at the pasta dinner on Friday night as well.

Michael Wardian Goes For United States 50K Record

Michael Wardian of Alexandria, Virginia will attempt to break the United States 50K record at the fifth annual Lake City International Marathon on Saturday, Sept. 13. Wardian has already won (1) the USA National 50K Championships in a course record and USA National Championship in a record time of 2:55:05, (2) the USA National 100K Championships in a course record 6:56:57, and (3) the USA National 50 Mile Trail Championships in the third fastest time on the course (6:52:50).
