Reigning champion Martin Lel returns to defend his Flora London Marathon title on Sunday, April 26, 2009 against one of the strongest fields ever assembled for a big city race.

Paula Radcliffe won the London Marathon in 2002, 2003 and 2005. She will attempt to tie the four win record by Norway's Ingrid Kristiansen, who won the London Marathon four times between 1984 and 1988. The April 26th race will include three other former London Marathon winners including defending Irina Mikitenko of Germany.
