Singapore Marathon deal rises to $3.5 million

Standard Chartered Bank, sponsor of the Singapore Marathon, announced an investment of $3.5 million in the marathon over the next three years. The funding increase is expected to draw at least 20,000 marathoners to the new course by 2007, and will hopefully aid in raising the event to world-class marathon status.

New route for this year's Singapore Marathon

This year's Singapore Marathon on December 5 will feature a new route for marathoners, as well as more events to attract a greater number of average runners than in previous years. The new route will provide a more comfortable climate for runners, and will accomadate a larger group of spectators to encourage participants, both young and old.
