The Tokyo Marathon announced it will expand its participant cap from 38,000 to 39,000 runners for the 2026 edition. Of these spots, 38,500 will be allocated to marathon participants, with the remaining 500 entries reserved for the 10.7K race. The 10.7K race is designated for youth, visually impaired athletes, transplant recipients, and wheelchair racers. This expansion reflects growing demand for participation in one of Asia's premier marathon events.
