Chinese Li Zhuhong clocked an unofficial time of two hours, 13 minutes and eight seconds to win the Beijing marathon on Sunday. Wei Yanan won the women's title of the Beijing marathon in an unofficial time of two hours, 20 minutes and 22 seconds. The race was toughly contested throughout with strong challenges coming on the men's side from Onesmus Kilonzo and Elias Chebet of Kenya.

Marathon Tours and Travel, the official North American Travel Agency for the Beijing Marathon recently announced that the date for the Beijing Marathon would be pushed back a week, from October 13 to October 20, due to a scheduling conflict with another event being held on the same day.
